S'Mores Kit and Rascal Flatts (With a Giveaway!)

Why is a UPS truck pulling up? I haven't ordered anything. Or maybe I ordered something really fun and then forgot about it? Or maybe it's something dull, like when I thought "Why is the UPS truck pulling up, maybe it's something fun" and I'd forgotten about the work shirts I'd ordered for Paul.

Oh my. OH MY.

Perhaps I shouldn't have taken this photo on such a distracting rug. The items on the distracting rug are: a box of Honey Maid graham crackers, a bag of Kraft marshmallows, a 6-pack of Hershey bars, a set of S'mores telescoping toasting forks IN A SPECIAL TOASTING FORK CARRIER (only you can prevent tragic S'mores-fork-related injuries), and the Rascal Flatts CD Unstoppable. Awwww yeahhhh.

The unusual marriage of S'Mores and Rascal Flatts has resulted in a free song (this is not the giveaway referred to in the title, just hold on another minute): the first 350,000 people to visit PureSmores.com will get a free download of Rascal Flatts's off-album song "Your Day to Get Away." And already you have one fewer chances to get it, because I already got mine.

To get it for yourself, you buy a 6-pack of Hershey bars (OH DARN, SOMEONE WILL HAVE TO EAT THOSE NOW), and then you enter the 10-digit UPC code from the package. You also have to register, which involves giving them your date of birth, your name, your address, and your email address. I registered, even though I am wary of giving out that kind of info, because I don't really mind Hershey's having it. If you are what you eat, I'm already genetically related to them anyway. (I didn't give my real birthdate, though. I assume that's just to make sure you're an adult.)

I was given this package as a sample, because one of you is going to win one too and clearly I had to make sure everything was delicious worth trying to win. To enter, leave a comment on this post telling me how you like your toasted marshmallows. Mostly white with only small areas of light tan? Just barely tan? Brown all over? Blackened? You have until Monday, May 10th to enter; I'll choose a winner on Tuesday, May 11th.

blackened. Mmmmm

Just baaaaarely tan. I used to like them still white, basically just slightly warmed up, but in maturity I've come around to a smidgen of color. Just a tiny bit, though. I dislike anything blackened.

I light mine on fire. Repeatedly. Awwwww, yeah.

Great giveaway! My life will be complete if I win. But, you know, no pressure.

I like the entire exterior lightly tan. Then I pull the outside off, eat the gooey inside and then down the crunchy shell.

I'm very methodical.

Very tan so that you can remove the "skin" and still have the gooey-ness on the stick. Mmmmmmmmmmmm....

Mmmm, dark on the outside and gooey on the inside. Making the perfect marshmallow is an ART. (and now I want some…pooh)

I set mine on fire just long enough for the outside to get bubbly, then I put it out. It makes for a perfect, gooey center with a crispy outside.

I like to set mine on fire as well. Then pull off the burnt part in one piece and set it on fire again.

So fun, right?

Dark brown, but not black - I like the outside crunchy and the inside gooey.

Mmm. Want s'mores now.

As long as it's smooshable, warm, and melty, it can be whatever color it wants.

deep tan toasty all over. MMMMMM.

I like them a perfect tan all over, but they must be melted through. This takes forever to do, but is so worth it.

Actually, I like toasted marshmallows so much that I rarely waste my perfectly-done ones on s'mores. When I want s'mores (which is often) I usually make them in the microwave.

Tan all over, melted all the way through, if it's going into a s'more. If it's just for eating, then usually I burn them.

Mmmm... S'mores! Toasted thoroughly. All golden and totally gooey.

yum, lightly toasted and all gooey on the inside.

The ever hard brown but not burnt ... So yummy. The added plus is my nephew thinks roaring marsellows is The Best Thing Ever and makes it all the more fun.

Ohhh smores! I like my marshmallows crispy brown all over but NOT burnt. If they catch fire I sacrifice them and try again.

PS just because it amuses me, my captcha is "beans."

MMM smores. I like marshmallows light brown .. hate when they catch on fire. Yummy. now I just want a smore

I like a tiny bit of burnt on one side but just a light toasting on the other side, and you have to be sure it's completely melted through. I hate when you bite into a toasted marshmallow and it's still chunky on the inside.

Definitely not burned. Brown enough to get the inside melty, not raw. I hate raw marshmallow. Once they are melty, however, they are magically transformed into yumminess. Also, extra chocolate on the S'More.

Blackened! Less caloric that way... right?

My best friend makes the BEST s'mores- lightly golden brown all over. She does it to perfection every time and I can no longer make them myself, I have to have her make them for me. :) She really really needs a toasting fork carrying case!

I prefer lightly browned with the heat all of the way through so it's completely gooey inside. Yum! I would love to win this!!!!

Brown all over!

I take my time and toast them sloooooowly (driving my family crazy), because I love when they get nice and dark brow, and puffed up huge. This is especially fun with the giant marshmallows (have you seen those?) because they toast to about the size of a fist.

nice and golden brown all around!!

Omg, there are really few things that are better than s'mores! I love my marshmallows "medium-well"--almost burned on the outside but melty on the inside.

Definitely light tan and slightly crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside. Takes a long time to get perfect, but they taste the best this way!

Perfectly browned all over.

I used to be of the fire roasted variety, but now I prefer my marshmallows to be brown and bubbly all over. With a melty inside that will goo all over the chocolate and graham crackers.....oh yeah.....

i guess i like them best lightly browned all over and chewey on the inside, but i can't help setting them on fire. too mcuh fun!

I like my marshmallows browned all around and gooey in the middle. :D

Set on fire repeatedly, so I can be sure that they're nearly completely melted in the middle. Yum, s'mores!
